During 2002, BBIC’s Innovation Services Division was sold on to Excalibur (UK) Ltd as a separate business.
Excalibur (UK) Ltd, in which BBIC retains a minority shareholding, offers structured Innovation Programmes towards the establishment of new enterprises (METEOR and SHIELD), SME new product development (SWORD SME), innovation techniques focused upon large organisations (Corporates and other Agencies). Programmes and Consultancy and Training Services are customised to meet the needs of organisations seeking development and growth through innovative new products and processes, and seek to develop capacity for continuous innovation as part of the process.

KNOWLEDGE INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE
In the early part of 2003 BBIC launched an on-line Business to Business Exchange designed to raise awareness of the skills, expertise, facilities and technological capabilities of businesses within the BBIC network.
The Exchange has been developed in order to showcase the products and services of local businesses and their commitment to innovation and technology transfer.
