Anthony Alan Foods - Business of the Year 2005AA Foods has won two awards at the 2005 British Chambers of Commerce Awards in London. The 25-worker firm picked up the Microsoft Prize for outstanding achievement with a prize of Ł25,000. AA Foods produce cakes and other foods for slimmers and won the accolade for its commitment to product development and financial success. “Obviously we were delighted. We were up against some well-run companies from all over the UK. Winning the Microsoft Award which was only announced on the night, was the icing on the cake, so to speak” said Matt Carr, Operations Manager. The firm plans to use the prize money to pay for business lessons in Barnsley schools in the hope of finding budding entrepreneurs. Roger Nunns, Chief Executive of the Barnsley Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The national winners of the chamber awards are all outstanding businesses. Anthony Alan Foods is an exceptional business”. The firm exports to 11 countries, Tony Maloney, the founder, was named Entrepreneur of the Year at last year’s awards. |
